SpineWorkspace Product Doctrine

This document is superseded by the Founder Canon. See docs/canonical/00-SPINEWORKSPACE-INTEGRATEWISE-CANON.md for the authoritative product doctrine.

1. Product thesis

Business Context is the semantic foundation of SpineWorkspace. It connects organizational business reality to Work, Humans, AI, Agents, Memory, Knowledge, Capabilities, Communication, Decisions, Governance, Execution, Evidence, Continuity and Outcomes. Without Business Context, SpineWorkspace has no meaning; it becomes another collection of tools and interfaces.

The Spine gives work its business context.

Humans and AI work together toward business goals and objectives using shared Business Context, with work continuously divided according to capabilities, responsibility, authority, risk, context and need.

AI absorbs work that does not require human judgment where appropriate. Humans retain responsibility, consequential judgment, relationships, exceptions and accountability.

2. Core problem

Organizations have fragmented work across:

  • people;
  • applications;
  • communications;
  • documents;
  • workflows;
  • data;
  • AI systems.

AI adds another fragmented participant unless it is grounded in the organization's Business Context.

3. Product answer

SpineWorkspace creates a connected Business Context through the Business Context Spine and uses it to coordinate human–AI Work. The Spine is not merely a data layer — it is the semantic operating substrate through which organizational business becomes contextual, actionable and continuous.

4. Product principles

  1. Business Context is the semantic foundation. Without it, nothing works.
  2. The Spine gives work its business context.
  3. Work is the primary coordination unit.
  4. One organization has one canonical Business Context.
  5. Users receive governed projections of Business Context.
  6. AI operates on Business Context through bounded projections.
  7. Twin and Spine Agents operate on Business Context, not on raw data.
  8. Triage classifies; Governance decides.
  9. Capability is separate from implementation.
  10. Consequential execution is governed.
  11. External state is reconciled against Business Context.
  12. Business Context becomes organizational knowledge only through governed promotion.
  13. Continuity survives system, person, agent and session boundaries.
  14. The feature test: If a feature cannot explain how it relates to Business Context, Work, or a Business Outcome, it does not yet have a meaningful place in SpineWorkspace.

5. The fundamental loop

Business → Context → Work → Action → Outcome → Context

Not:

Application → AI → tool call → result

The latter is exactly the fragmented model IntegrateWise is intended to replace.

6. Value chain

Better Business Context
→ Better Decisions
→ Better Work Allocation
→ Faster / Better Execution
→ Verified Outcomes
→ Compounding Business Knowledge
→ Better Future Work

7. Non-goals

SpineWorkspace is not primarily:

  • a CRM;
  • an AI chatbot;
  • a generic copilot;
  • an autonomous authority;
  • a replacement for every source system;
  • a blind automation platform.

8. Five separate views

SpineWorkspace is one system experienced through five separate views. These are not the same thing:

ViewWhat it is
User ViewHuman Workbench — what the user sees and does
Platform ViewIntegrateWise Platform Console — what the operator manages
Package ViewProduct offering and packaging
Pipeline ViewData flow — ingestion → normalization → four flows → governed writes
Agentic ViewAI/agent execution — Twin → Agents → Governance → Hermes → Reconciliation

All five views share the same Business Context Spine. They do not share the same interface, concerns, or documentation.

9. Economic thesis

The ultimate unit of value is operational work:

What did it cost to move meaningful business Work from its current state to the desired outcome?

The platform can therefore evolve toward economics of work rather than seats or raw model consumption.
