IntegrateWise Operational Domains: Complete Implementation for Customer Zero

Tier C — Historical. This document is a point-in-time snapshot preserved for reference. For current architecture, see CANONICAL_PLATFORM_ARCHITECTURE.md.

What Was Built

A complete operational domain system for Customer Zero (B2B SaaS, GTM-focused) that implements the architecture:

FIELDS → CONTEXT EXTRACTION → LINKING → AI INSIGHTS → SIGNALS

Files Created

1. Business Objects (packages/types/src/business-objects.ts)

Defines canonical business objects independent of connectors:

  • Opportunity - deals in pipeline (from Freshsales, enriched by Apollo, Gmail, Zoom, Razorpay)
  • Account - company records
  • Contact - people records
  • Zod schemas for runtime validation
  • Exported from packages/types/index.ts

2. Merge Fields (packages/types/src/merge-fields.ts)

Collapse connector-specific fields into canonical merge fields:

  • Cross-source identity linking (domain/email normalization)
  • Field role metadata (score, recency, identity, monetary, engagement)
  • Grow-on-connect → hydrate existing records → adjust downstream
  • 9 tests passing, end-to-end flow verified
  • Exported from packages/types/index.ts

3. Operational Domains (packages/types/src/operational-domains.ts)

Functional lenses over shared platform:

  • Sales (WIN) - find prospects → qualify → meet → close deals

    • Connectors: Freshsales, Apollo, Gmail, Zoom, Razorpay
    • Capabilities: qualify-lead, prepare-meeting-brief, advance-deal, forecast-revenue, detect-stalled-deal
    • Merge fields: lead_score, fit_score, engagement_score, value, stage, probability, stalled_flag
    • Business objects: lead, opportunity, account, contact
  • CS (GROW) - monitor health, detect churn, expand

    • Connectors: Freshsales, Razorpay, Zoom, Gmail
    • Capabilities: monitor-health, detect-expansion
    • Business objects: account, opportunity
  • Finance (COLLECT) - track payments, forecast cash

    • Connectors: Razorpay, Freshsales
    • Capabilities: prioritize-collections, forecast-cash-flow
    • Business objects: account, opportunity

4. Web App Integration

Operational Domain Context (apps/web/lib/operational-domain-context.ts)

Provides operational domain for current session:

  • Declarative mapping: domain → connectors, capabilities, merge fields, business objects
  • Helper functions: getOperationalDomain(), getAllDomains()

Capabilities Engine (apps/web/lib/capabilities-engine.ts)

Executes domain capabilities on unified data:

  • qualifyLead() - ICP scoring based on merged fields (fit_score, engagement_score, seniority, company_size)
    • Inputs: fit_score, engagement_score, seniority, company_size, lead_score
    • Outputs: qualification_score (0-100), action (call/email/skip)
    • Weighting: fit (30%), engagement (25%), seniority (20%), company_size (15%), lead_score (10%)
  • executeCapability() - dispatcher for all capabilities
  • Generic pattern for adding more capabilities

Sync Merge Fields (apps/web/lib/sync-merge-fields.ts)

Applies merge fields during data sync:

  • applyMergeFieldsToRecord() - transform raw connector data to unified record
  • syncFreshsalesDealAsOpportunity() - Freshsales → Opportunity hydration
  • syncApolloLeadAsLead() - Apollo → Lead hydration
  • enrichRecordWithConnectorData() - merge signals from multiple sources

Updated Leads View (apps/web/components/views/leads-view.tsx)

Wires operational domain into UI:

  • Loads leads from database
  • Applies qualify-lead capability to each lead
  • Sorts by qualification_score (not raw score)
  • Shows qualification score + recommended action (📞 Call / 📧 Email / ⏸️ Skip)
  • Shows raw score for comparison
  • All processing invisible to user—they just see prioritized list

Seed Data Route (apps/web/app/api/seed/leads/route.ts)

Provides test data for demo:

  • 5 test leads with varying fit_score, engagement_score, seniority, company_size
  • POST endpoint to seed the database
  • Shows how different signals combine into qualification score

How It Works: Win Motion Flow

  1. Apollo detects prospect → emits raw lead data

  2. Freshsales records deal → emits raw deal data

  3. Sync runs:

    • Applies merge fields to Apollo lead → canonical lead fields
    • Applies merge fields to Freshsales deal → canonical opportunity fields
    • Records stored in Spine (could be Supabase, Neon, etc.)
  4. Sales rep opens Leads page:

    • LeadsView fetches leads from database
    • qualify-lead capability runs on each lead:
      • Reads fit_score, engagement_score, seniority, company_size (merged fields)
      • Calculates qualification_score using weighted formula
      • Determines action (call/email/skip)
    • Leads sorted by qualification_score (best first)
    • Rep sees prioritized list with "Call", "Email", or "Skip" action per lead
  5. Capability is completely invisible:

    • Rep doesn't see "AI Feature" button
    • Rep doesn't see "Qualify Lead Capability"
    • Rep just sees: "Here's the best lead to call, here's the next best," etc.
    • Behind the scenes: merge fields unified the data, capability scored it, signals determined action

Key Architecture Principles Implemented

1. Business Objects Over Connectors

  • Objects exist independent of data source
  • Connectors are just data sources feeding fields
  • Merge fields bridge them
  • Result: ANY connector with right raw fields auto-lights up

2. Field-Role-Driven Signals

  • Signals key off role (score, recency, monetary) not connector name
  • qualifyLead reads "fit_score" (a role) not "apollo.fit_score" (connector-specific)
  • Same signal code works for Sales (lead scoring), CS (health scoring), Finance (risk scoring)

3. Invisible Capabilities

  • Capabilities consume merged fields
  • Execute in fetch() or sync() background
  • Results surface in UX contextually
  • User sees outcome, not technology

4. Shared Spine, Multiple Lenses

  • All 3 domains (Sales, CS, Finance) see same Account, Opportunity, Contact records
  • Each domain selects which connectors, capabilities, merge fields matter
  • Patterns learned in one domain (e.g., deal velocity signals for closing) available to others

Testing the System

  1. Seed test data:

    curl -X POST http://localhost:3000/api/seed/leads

  2. Open Leads page: http://localhost:3000/leads

    • See 5 test leads sorted by qualification_score
    • Sarah Chen (VP, 1000+ employees, high fit/engagement) → qualification_score 85 → "📞 Call"
    • Michael Rodriguez (Manager, 101-500 employees, medium fit/engagement) → qualification_score 64 → "📧 Email"
    • Jennifer Williams (Founder, tiny company, low fit/engagement) → qualification_score 47 → "⏸️ Skip"
    • etc.
  3. Monitor console:

    • [v0] Qualify Lead capability: logs show scoring in action
    • [v0] Applied merge fields: logs show field hydration
    • Verify leads are sorted by qualification, not raw score

Next Steps

  1. Add more capabilities to Sales (prepare-meeting-brief, advance-deal, etc.)
  2. Wire Apollo connector to actually sync prospects (currently hardcoded test data)
  3. Add CS capabilities (monitor-health, detect-expansion)
  4. Add Finance capabilities (prioritize-collections, forecast-cash-flow)
  5. Implement cross-domain insights (sales velocity → CS expansion prediction, etc.)
  6. Scale to other domains (Support, HR, Ops, etc.) — same patterns, different capabilities
