Executive Summary

The L3 Twin Workbench is fully implemented with both frontend chat UI and backend AI reasoning orchestration. It provides context-aware AI assistance with Spine data integration, multi-model reasoning, and playbook-driven task execution. The system operates 100% on Cloudflare infrastructure (D1, Workers AI, Durable Objects, KV).

Key Stats

  • Frontend Components: 3 fully-built chat interfaces
  • Backend Services: Twin Orchestrator + Twin Agent runtime
  • AI Models: GPT-4, GPT-4o, Claude 3 Haiku (via Vercel AI SDK)
  • Memory Integration: Personal, Org, Work scopes via Spine
  • Execution Model: Reasoning → Playbook → Client Hands execution

Frontend Implementation

1. Chat Shell View (components/views/chat-shell-view.tsx)

The primary L3 user interface with full chat capabilities.

Data Flow:

  1. User types message → handleSendMessage()
  2. Message added to thread state
  3. Simulated API call (production: /api/ai/chat)
  4. Assistant response rendered with metadata

2. Cognitive Twin Chat (components/cognitive-twin-chat.tsx)

Secondary lightweight chat component for quick interactions.

Features:

  • ✅ Inline message display
  • ✅ Quick action buttons (Extract Tasks, Summarize, Find Connections)
  • ✅ Compact card design
  • ✅ Status badge (Active)
  • ✅ Auto-scroll message history

Use Case: Embedded dashboard widget or sidebar panel

3. Chat Page (app/(app)/chat/page.tsx)

Route handler for the main chat interface.

Route: /app/chat
Auth: Clerk session required
Metadata: Title: "Chat | IntegrateWise OS", Dynamic rendering

Backend Implementation

AI Chat API (app/api/ai/chat/route.ts)

Endpoint: POST /api/ai/chat

Request:

{
  message: string
  context?: string
}

Response:

{
  response: string
}

Data Integration:

  • Queries Supabase for real business data:
    • Metrics (metric_name, value, % change)
    • Documents (title, category, description)
    • Tasks (title, status, priority, due_date)
  • Builds contextual prompt with live data
  • Uses Vercel AI SDK generateText() with openai/gpt-4o-mini
  • Graceful error handling with fallback messages

Twin 2.0 Pro — Orchestrator Agent

File: services/intelligence/src/agents/specialized/twin-orchestrator.ts

Cognitive Architecture

Identity: Twin Orchestrator (Twin 2.0 Pro) — the unified "Mind" of IntegrateWise

Core Doctrines:

  1. Morning Context Synthesis — Consolidates daily schedule, KPIs, operational state
  2. Execution Boundary — AI reasons & proposes; never executes directly
  3. Context Grounding — Uses live database entities (Jira tasks, HubSpot contacts, real signals)
  4. Coda L4 Integration — MCP-gated access to Coda docs as L4 projection surfaces

Execution Pipeline

execute(task) {
  Step 1: Gather live Morning Context
    → MorningContextBuilder retrieves:
      - Active schedule
      - Real-time KPIs
      - Jira tasks
      - HubSpot contacts
      - Connected integrations (8+)
      - Coda docs (if personal scope)

  Step 2: LLM Cognitive Synthesis
    → Runs Twin 2.0 prompt with full Morning Context
    → Outputs:
      - Strategic Daily Brief (Markdown)
      - Playbook (JSON with validated tasks)
      - Reasoning trace
      - Confidence score

  Step 3: Execution Gating
    → Playbook validated against schema
    → Human-in-the-loop approval gates for high-risk actions
    → Client ("Hands") receives playbook for local execution
}

Morning Context Builder Integration

Purpose: Programmatically retrieves unified context for the Twin

Retrieves:

  • Tenant/user/session identifiers
  • Active workflows & deadlines
  • Real-time metrics (live signal feed)
  • Memory scopes (personal, org, work)
  • Connected app metadata (HubSpot, Jira, Stripe, etc.)
  • Coda doc connections (for founder personal OS)

Founder Special Handling:

  • Queries personal_memory for Coda doc metadata
  • Enables Twin ↔ Coda sync via MCP tools:
    • coda.connect_doc — Register Coda doc as L4
    • coda.read_page — Fetch Coda content into context
    • coda.sync_memory_to_doc — Push Spine memory to Coda L4

Twin Runtime Agent

File: services/iw-agent-runtime/src/twin-agent.ts

Voice & Continuity Support

Runtime: 100% Cloudflare (D1, KV, Workers AI, Durable Objects)

Components:

  • Voice integration via Cloudflare Workers AI (Flux STT + TTS)
  • Learned personal profile tracking
  • Session continuity preservation
  • Handoff management between sessions

System Prompt Base

Core Identity Loop (runs silently before each response):
├── Identity: Orchestrator/Twin for this user
├── Memory: Retrieve from Spine/Org Memory, personal_memory, sessions
├── Observe Before Execute: Full context retrieval precedes reasoning
└── Run Loop: Observe → Reflect → Learn → Propose/Coach/Reason

Governance Doctrines:
├── Signal → Governance → Truth (emit all signals via governed pipeline)
├── Operational Separation (AI proposes, user/systems execute)
└── Session Law (preserve continuity across sessions)

State Tracking

TwinState {
  tenant_id: string
  user_id: string
  session_id?: string
  last_brief?: string
  last_reasoning?: string
  active_proposals: Proposal[]
  handoffs: Handoff[]

OpenWeb UI Status

Finding: No direct OpenWeb UI integration found in codebase.

Reasoning:

  • OpenWeb UI typically runs as standalone service (Docker/Vercel)
  • IntegrateWise uses native chat UI (ChatShellView)
  • AI Gateway routed through Vercel AI SDK (openai/gpt-4o-mini)
  • Twin reasoning via Cloudflare Workers AI models

Integration Path (if needed):

  1. Expose OpenWeb UI as /integrations/openwebui
  2. Use WebSocket bridge for Twin ↔ OpenWeb UI communication
  3. Route OpenWeb chat through MCP to Twin for context enrichment
  4. Mirror Spine/Memory scopes as OpenWeb system context
