Where the vision describes the destination, the mission is the engine. It must fit in one breath and survive ten years.\n\n**Target audience:** Team (primary), customers, candidates, press.\n\n---\n\n## The Mission\n\n> **Give every person a workspace where they and their Twin do the work together — with context that persists, actions that are governed, and truth their organization owns.**\n\nShort form (spoken): _\"We're ending the era where people are the integration layer between their own tools — and giving AI a place to earn trust instead of demanding it.\"_\n\n---\n\n## Decomposition — What the Mission Obligates\n\n| Mission clause                                               | Daily obligation                                                                                                                          | Owned by              |\n| ------------------------------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------- |\n| \"a workspace where they and their Twin do the work together\" | Ship shared workbenches where interventions land inside the work, never a chat destination beside it (product doctrine, interaction laws) | Product               |\n| \"context that persists\"                                      | Kill the Empty Context Tax: work resumes where it ended, across sessions, tools, people, and models                                       | Platform              |\n| \"actions that are governed\"                                  | The Twin prepares; the human approves; everything audits. No exceptions, including for us                                                 | Platform + Governance |\n| \"truth their organization owns\"                              | Spine is exportable, provider-agnostic, provenance-carrying. Leaving must be possible for staying to be meaningful                        | Platform              |\n\n---\n\n## Mission Boundaries\n\n**We do:** compose work context, prepare hard parts, propose grounded actions, execute approved capabilities across connected tools, preserve organizational continuity.\n\n**We don't:** replace the customer's tools of record, own their execution stack decisions, automate away the accountable human, or let any model — including the best one — write organizational truth directly.\n\n---\n\n## The Mission Test (for every quarter's plan)\n\n1. Did we reduce the minutes a user spends reconstructing context? (measured: time-to-context on workbench open)\n2. Did we increase the consequential work users trust the Twin to prepare? (measured: Approved Twin Actions per seat per week)\n3. Did we strengthen the customer's ownership of their truth? (measured: Spine export capability, provider-swap capability, provenance coverage)\n\nA quarter that ships features but moves none of these three failed the mission regardless of the changelog. ([76 Quarterly OKRs](../13-operations/76-quarterly-okrs.md) inherits these as standing objectives.)\n\n**KPIs:** the three mission metrics above, plus employee mission-recall (every teammate can state the mission verbatim — checked in onboarding, [71 Internal Enablement](../13-operations/71-internal-enablement.md)).\n\n---\n\n**Related:** [02 Company Vision](02-company-vision.md) · [04 Long-term Narrative](04-long-term-narrative.md) · [76 Quarterly OKRs](../13-operations/76-quarterly-okrs.md)\n"}
